Sam Tordoff is a British racing driver, currently competing in the BTCC in 2014.[1] Tordoff rose through the ranks in the Renault Clio Cup, supported by KX Momentum Racing, the team he currently competes for in the BTCC.[2]
Current Season[]
Tordoff again partners Jason Plato for MG KX Club Card Fuel Save, racing a MG 6 at all of the years meetings.[3] Tordoff's season got off to a reasonable start at Brands Hatch Indy, where he was able to take two tenth place finishes in a competitive field.[3]
Background[]
Tordoff's motorsport career began in go-karting, before he obtained a seat in the Renault Clio Cup in 2009.[2] An eighth place overall saw Tordoff compete in the Clio Cup once again in 2010, improving to third overall by the end of the season.[2] His season was cut short for a one-off drive in the BTCC for Triple Eight at the season finale at Brands Hatch GP.[2] Between 2011 and 2012, Tordoff competed in the Porsche Carrera Cup, before he took the chance to drive full time in the BTCC.[2]
BTCC History[]
Tordoff, in his full debut at the start of 2013, made an impressive start, finishing on the podium in his new MG 6 provided by Triple Eight (running under the name MG KX Momentum Racing).[1] Tordoff took his first victory in the BTCC after the summer break at Snetterton, ultimately finishing sixth in the final standings.[1] In 2014, Tordoff again raced for Triple Eight in an MG 6.
