Marc Hynes is a driver in the BTCC in 2014, racing for Quantel BiFold Racing.[1] Hynes in well known in the motorsport world, particularly for his work in training Formula One drivers.[1]
Current Season[]
Hynes is competing in his first season in the BTCC in 2014, driving an MG 6 prepared by Triple Eight Race Engineering.[3] Racing under Quantel BiFold Racing's banner, Hynes managed a best finish of eighteenth at the season opener at Brands Hatch Indy.[4]
Background[]
Hynes' racing career began in the early 1990s, before he stepped up to the Formula Vauxhall Junior championship in 1995, taking the title the same year.[1] From here, Hynes progressed to Formula Renault and then to Formula Three, ultimately beating numerous future Formula One drivers to the title in 1999.[1] The 2000s saw Hynes compete in numerous championships including the V8 Supercars Championship and American LeMans Series.[2] Hynes was made head of driver development at Marussia F1, coaching their drivers for the coming season.[2]

Despite missing out on an oppertunity to drive in Formula One, Hynes did manage to get a drive in the BTCC, driving for Quantel BiFold Racing.[1]
